Prepared, Not Scared in Omaha, NE
9/6/2019 (Permalink)
September is National Preparedness Month and the theme this year is Prepared, Not Scared. Be Ready for Disasters. One way to be prepared is to contact SERVPRO of Sarpy County at 402-291-3355 for a no-cost SERVPRO Emergency READY Plan.
The Department of Homeland Security splits the month of September into four sections, each one preparing us for a national disaster.
Week one - Finances. Check to make sure you have insurance coverage and have extra money set aside.
Week two - Planning. Know where to go and how to get there. Some people set aside time to have a conversation about where their family would meet at if they became separated and how to get there while others make it a quick dinner conversation.
Week three - Children. Most schools have a week dedicated to preparing students on who to call in case a disaster ever occurs.
Week four - Community. Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) train volunteers to prepare for disasters that may occur in their community.
